This We Believe...

  • there is one God, eternally existent in three
persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the
    Holy Ghost.
  • the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and
    authoritative written Word of God.
  • in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His sinless
life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning
death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to
the right hand of the Father, in His personal future
return to this earth in power and glory to rule for a
    thousand years.
  • in the Blessed Hope - the premillenium rapture of
    the Church.
  • the only means of being cleansed from sin is
through repentance and faith in the precious blood
    of Christ.
  • regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely
    essential for personal salvation.
  • the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides
healing of the human body in answer to believing
    prayer.
  • the baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts
2:4, is given to believers who ask for it.
  • in the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose
indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.
  • in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost,
the one to everlasting life and the other to
    everlasting damnation.

  Baptism of the Holy Ghost

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the gift of power upon a clean, sanctified life.

Luke:24:49; Matthew 3:11; John 7:38-39, 14:15-17; Acts 1:5-8.

When we receive the experience of the Baptism of the Holy Ghost we also receive the

same sign of Bible evidence as did the disciples on the day of Pentecost (Act 2:4), at the

house of Cornelius (Acts 10:46), and at the city of Ephesus (Acts 19:6)--that of speaking

in other tongues (or languages) as the Spirit gives utterance. Also Mark 16:17; I Cor.

14:21:22.

  Church

The Bible teaches that Christ's body is the Church and that we are members in

particular. (Ephesians 1:22-23; I Corinthians 12:27) We are received into the body of Christ

by a spiritual birth. (Psalm 87:5-6; John 3:3-8; Acts 2:47; I Corinthians 12:13) We also

believe that each believer needs to have some visible Church affiliation here upon earth

that they might further the spread of the Gospel.

  Eternity

The Bible teaches that Hell is as eternal as Heaven. (Matthew 25:41-46) The wicked

shall be cast into a burning hell, a lake that burns with fire and brimstone forever and

forever. (Revelation 14:10-11; Luke 16:24; Mark 9:43-44; Revelation 20:14-15)

  Great White Throne Judgment

All nations shall be gathered before the great white throne of God for eternal judgment.

Here both small and great among men shall be judged according to their works. (Daniel

12:2; Matthew 25:31-46; Revelation 20:11-15)

  Healing for the Body

The Bible teaches Divine Healing for our physical bodies, just as it teaches salvation for

our souls, it being purchased in the atonement. (Psalm 103:3; Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew

8:17; Mark 16:18; James 5:14-16)

Jesus also cast out devils and gives His disciples the power to do the same. (Mark 9:25

29, 16:17; Luke 10:19)

  Justification

Justification is the act of God's grace whereby we receive forgiveness of sins. It comes

through repentance toward God, and Faith in our Lord Jesus Christ and His atonement.

(Acts 10:43, 13:38-39; Romans 3:26, 5:1; Luke 15:7) It is the New Birth spoken of in John

3:3-6.

  Marriage

The Bible teaches clearly that marriage should be held in honor by all people (Hebrews

13:4) and that those who do not will be judged. It further teaches clearly that marriage is

between a man and woman as shown in Ephesians 5:31, "...a man...will be united to his

wife," in which wife is clearly a female in the Greek definition and a man is male.

Jesus, himself, gave strong admonitions for marriage in saying that those who divorce

and marry another commit adultery and/or cause the other spouse, if they marry to commit

adultery. (Mark 10:11-12; Luke 16:18) The only exception to this that Jesus gave was

adultery or marital unfaithfulness. (Matthew 5:31-32)

The Apostle Paul declares that a believing husband or wife must not separate from their

unbelieving spouse as long as the unbeliever remains. (I Corinthians 7:10-15) Additional

references: Genesis 2:18-25; Matthew 19:5-6; Romans 7:2-3; John 2:1-11.

  Millennium

The Bible teaches a thousand year reign with Christ. During this time Satan shall be

bound. (Revelation 20:1-6) This will truly be a day of rest for God's people. (Hebrews 4:1

11)

  Repentance Towards God

We believe in repentance as the sole means whereby we may receive forgiveness of

sins, by which we confess our sins and ask God's mercy in helping us forsake our sins. It is

Godly sorrow for sins. (Mark 1:15; Luke 13:3; Acts 20:21; II Corinthians 7:10; Acts 2:38)

  Restitution

We must have a conscience void of offense toward both God and man. Restitution

means making the things right wherein we have wronged our fellowman--taking back or

paying for stolen articles, settling for good obtained by fraud. (Luke 19:8-9) Other

confessions sometimes have to be made.

  Sacraments

Jesus instituted the sacrament of the Lord's Supper, that we might show the Lord's

death till He comes. We feel that everyone should examine himself to judge his worthiness.

(Luke 22:17-20; I Corinthians 11:23-26)

Also after the sacrament was ended, Jesus washed the feet of the disciples with these

words, "If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one

another's feet. For I have given you an example, that he should do as I have done unto

you" teaching us humility. (John 13:14-15)

Sanctification

Sanctification is that act of God's grace whereby the affections of men are purified and

alienated from sin and the world and elevated to a supreme love toward God. It is a second

definite work, wrought in the heart with the blood of Jesus Christ (Hebrews 13:12) by the

Holy Ghost (Romans 15:16) through faith. (Hebrews 2:11; I Thessalonians 4:3; John 17:15,

17; I John 1:7; I Peter 1:2)

  Second Coming of Jesus

The return of Jesus will be just as literal as His going away. (Acts 1:9-11; John 14:1-3)

Preparation for His return was the message He stressed to His disciples in Matthew 24:44

and such an event was that which Paul looked forward to, and points up to. (I

Thessalonians 4:15-18; I Corinthians 15:51-53) We also believe there is to be a great

tribulation prior to the coming of Jesus ushered in by the revealing of the Anti-Christ.

(Matthew 24:21-22, 29; Revelation chapters 13 and 16) Also, note Daniel 7:15-25, 8:15

25, 9:20-27, 11:20-45, 12:1; Isaiah 26:20-21; II Thessalonians 2.

  Tithing

Tithing is an ordinance of God (Malachi 3:7-12). Some claim that tithing was under the

law, and hence, it is not a requirement today. This is an error in teaching. Men paid tithe

long before the law was given. (Genesis 14:20; 28:22) Then under the law, tithing was

imposed to support the priesthood and singers who did the work (Nehemiah 13:10-14),

which answers to the ministry today. Now under Grace both Christ and Paul speak of

tithing. (Matthew 23:23; Hebrews 7:8)

  Water Baptism

Water baptism by immersion (single) in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Ghost,

being performed as the answer of a good conscience toward God, is, we feel, a

commandment of the Lord Jesus Christ. The word "Baptize" is from the Greek "Baptizo"

meaning to dip, to overwhelm, or to dye. Jesus was baptized of John in Jordan. (Matthew

3:15-16, 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Mark 16:16; I Peter 3:21)
